What is the Osteoporosis Support Group?

The Osteoporosis support group is a chance for people who are newly diagnosed or living with Osteoporosis/Osteopenia, to share experiences and support each other. On occasions guest speakers will be invited, with the support of the Social Prescriber, to share their practice, with the group to help improve health and wellbeing.

What is the role?

We are looking for people that have lived experience or a passion to support others dealing with Oseoporosis and the role would involve supporting the WACA Social Prescribing team to plan the groups and help facilitate each session.

We would provide Peer Support training and support you with any relevant e-learning for the role.

Location?

The Osteoporosis support group is held at Dyneley House Surgery in Skipton

When?

The last Wednesday of every month 10.30-12pm

. Ability to use own initiative

Do I get any support?

You will initially be supported within the group until able to work independently and the WACA Volunteer Coordinator will be on hand for regular check-ins.

Do I get expenses paid?

Yes! All out of pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed, just ask the volunteer coordinator for a form.
