Dyneley House Surgery hosted a successful Veterans Health Event on the 1st April 2026, welcoming 25 local veterans to learn more about the wide range of support available to them through primary care and community services.

The event was led by Dr Frinton, who opened the session by highlighting the importance of recognising veterans’ specific health and wellbeing needs and ensuring they are aware of the additional support available to them.

Attendees heard from a range of guest speakers, each offering insight into the services they provide and how veterans can access support, including:
  • Talking Therapies
  • WACA Primary Care Network Social Prescribing Service
  • WACA Primary Care Network Mental Health Coaching Service
  • SSAFA (Armed Forces charity)
  • Andy’s Man Club
The session focused on improving awareness of both primary care‑based support and wider community and voluntary sector services, helping veterans to understand how these services can work together to support their mental health, wellbeing, and wider needs.
Dr Frinton said the event was an important opportunity to connect veterans with tailored support:
“Veterans can sometimes be unaware of the additional services and support available to them. Events like this help ensure they feel recognised, understood, and supported both within primary care and in the wider community.”
The event also provided an opportunity for veterans to ask questions, speak directly with service providers, and build confidence in accessing support when needed.
Dyneley House Surgery and partners plan to continue working together to improve awareness of veterans’ health services and strengthen links between primary care and community organisations.
